Khaleda Zia was most popular leader in BD: Jamaat's Taher

Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher has said former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was the most popular leader in Bangladesh's history, reports UNB.

"Up to now, Begum Khaleda Zia was the most popular leader in Bangladesh. Today, the entire nation is united in mourning and paying respect to her," he said.

Taher made the remarks while talking to journalists in front of the BNP Chairperson's political office in the capital's Gulshan around 7:45 pm on Tuesday, after signing the condolence book opened there in memory of Khaleda Zia. He said Khaleda Zia was an uncompromising leader in the struggle to establish people's rights. "She demonstrated this throughout her political life.
