Tapashee Tabassum Urmi
Tapashee Tabassum Urmi, an assistant commissioner (executive magistrate) at Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner`s Office, was suspended on Monday over her controversial comments on the social media platform Facebook about Dr Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser of the interim government.
Public Administration Ministry's public relations officer Mansur Hossain confirmed the matter to the media adding that a process was being made to take departmental action against Urmi as per service rules.
Earlier on Sunday, Tapashee Tabassum was made an Officer on Special Duty, OSD, over the contentious comments.
Tapashee wrote on her Facebook, "The chief adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government said that the reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking the reset button. So easy! The countdown has begun for you (Yunus), sir."
When asked about the status, magistrate Urmi told the media, "I have posted that it is enough."
Taapsee's previous Facebook posts showed that she had given several statuses on the side of the ousted government in the mass uprising of the students.
In addition, she also posted several posts with a strong position in favour of Awami League. In a previous Facebook status, she called martyr Abu Sayed, a martyr of the student movement in Rangpur, a "terrorist".
