A child from Magura, who was allegedly raped while visiting her sister's house, currently receiving treatment at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital, or CMH, is on life support, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations, or ISPR, reports bdnews24.com.

The ISPR detailed the child's admission and ongoing medical condition in a statement on Monday night.

The statement said, "On Mar 8 at 6pm, the child was transferred to the CMH Dhaka paediatric ICU from Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition on life support.

The child was completely unconscious at the time, with a blood pressure of 120/70 mmHg (with cardiac support), a heart rate of 118 beats per minute, and oxygen saturation at 96 percent."

Doctors found deep wounds at the front of the child's neck and injuries on other sensitive areas of the body, the statement added.

A high-level medical board was formed at CMH, including the commandant, chief surgeon general, and heads of paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, plastic surgery, paediatric surgery, senior anaesthesia specialists, and a senior paediatric neurologist.
