Memories of Apr 29 cyclone horror back

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 28: Tomorrow (Monday) is the tragic day of April 29. On this day in 1991, thousands of people were killed in a cyclone that left a trail of devastation along a huge swathe of the country's coastal belt.

Twenty-eight years have passed since then, but the people living in the coastal belt of Chattogram are yet to be fully protected from natural calamities.

Still, there are no adequate cyclone centres for them and the construction of an embankment is yet to be completed.

The people of Chattogram, particularly people of coastal belt, will commemorate the day (Monday) and recall the memories of their near and dear ones who died in the cyclone.
