Mobile court seizes dead chickens from Ctg hotel

CHATTOGRAM, July 10: A mobile court seized a good number of dead chickens from a city hotel on Tuesday.

Magistrate Shirin Akhter conducted a mobile court drive at Zaman Hotel in the city's Muradpur area and found some dead chickens just before cooking.

Hotel boys confessed to her that the owner buys dead chickens from the market and serves the same to customers, she said.

The hotel has been fined Tk 10,000.

Another hotel named Makka Hotel just beside Zaman Hotel has been fined Tk 5,000 for unhealthy environment at the kitchen.

Some local people told the magistrate that a section of hoteliers buy dead chickens from different farms at cheap prices and serve them at city hotels.
