Mother, daughter killed in Ctg over financial dispute

CHATTOGRAM, June 14: A housewife and her daughter were stabbed to death allegedly over a financial dispute at their home at Chenamoti Barua Para under Paraikora Union of Anwara Upazila in Chattogram on Saturday night.

The victims were identified as Annie Barua (40) and her daughter Priyonti Barua (16). Besides, five-year-old son of Annie Barua identified as Piash Barua also sustained stab wounds during the attack.

Locals said neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing screams at night. Upon arrival, they found Annie and her young son lying in a pool of blood in front of the door.

Neighbours discovered Priyonti's body inside the house.

On information, a team of police from Anwara police station reached the spot and recovered the two bodies. The bodies were sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Anwara Circle) Mahmudul Hasan said, "A preliminary investigation has found the financial dispute with a neighbour”.
