NBR to probe allegations against Dr Kamal

Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), said the body will look into the tax evasion allegations against Dr Kamal Hossain, a top leader of the newly-formed Jatiya Oikya Front, reports bdnews24.com.

The NBR will look into the allegation in such a way that it has no impact on the 11th parliamentary election, he said.

The anti-graft watchdog had sent a letter to Kamal Hossain, who is also the president of Gano Forum, asking him to answer question on tax evasion on November 19.

We are working on the investigation and a little time is needed, said NBR Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan at a media briefing in the city on Sunday.

The NBR chairman also stated that they do not want to create any confusion by arresting him as he is involved with the opposite party ahead of December 30 election, but are looking into the allegation in a fair way.
