Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, whose activities were banned following the July movement, is reported to be in critical condition and receiving treatment on ventilator support in Kolkata, according to some online news portals.
However, other sources claimed he had returned to his so-called "secret place"

in Kolkata after being discharged from the hospital, following several days of serious illness that reportedly left him on life support.
Hospital and related sources said he is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Apollo Hospital in Kolkata, according to a Bangla Tribune report.
Quader has been suffering from multiple age-related complications for a long time, and his physical condition gradually deteriorated, leaving him bedridden for several days.
Sources said he was receiving oxygen support at a rented residence in New Town, Kolkata.
On Friday, his condition suddenly worsened severely. He was rushed to Apollo Hospital in an almost unconscious state.
Following admission, doctors assessed his condition as critical and decided to place him on ventilator support.
Hospital sources said he has shown a slight response to treatment. However, his condition remains critical and at a high-risk stage.
The hospital authorities have not officially disclosed detailed information regarding his diagnosis and treatment process.
