PRIORITY, FLAGSHIP PROJECTS

PMO starts reviewing 1st 100-day progress

REZAUL KARIM | June 17, 2026 00:00:00

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has launched a comprehensive review of the implementation progress of the government's priority and flagship projects during its first 100 days in office, aiming to assess achievements and identify challenges in delivering key election pledges.

The PMO has asked government entities, including ministries and divisions, to submit progress reports on the implementation of designated projects covering the period from February 16 to May 27, sources said.

Authorities concerned have been instructed to submit both hard and soft copies of their progress reports by June 21 using a prescribed reporting template.

Under the reporting framework, ministries and divisions have been asked to specify targets set for the first 180 days, progress achieved during the initial 100 days, the current implementation status, and any challenges faced, along with proposed mitigation measures.

According to an official letter issued by the PMO on June 10, ministries and divisions have been requested to provide updates on projects included in the government's priority agenda and election commitments, an official said on condition of anonymity.

The official said the PMO had prepared a standard monitoring template to evaluate progress achieved up to May 27, marking the administration's first 100 days in office.

Officials said the flagship initiatives were selected from the policy commitments and pledges outlined in the ruling party's election manifesto.

The projects span a wide range of sectors, including social protection, healthcare, employment, education, agriculture, the environment, information technology and job creation.

Among the key initiatives are the introduction of Family Card and Farmer Card programmes, reforms in the healthcare sector, expansion of technical and vocational education, religious welfare programmes, the establishment of multimedia classrooms, and wider use of digital technologies in education.

The government's priority agenda also includes expanding high-speed internet connectivity nationwide, creating overseas employment opportunities, strengthening the ICT industry, promoting sports development, improving governance in the banking sector, supporting SME growth, and encouraging investment in the capital market.

Infrastructure and environmental initiatives include canal excavation, implementation of the Teesta and Padma Barrage projects, tree plantation programmes, and integrated waste management systems.

Officials said the ongoing assessment underscores the government's emphasis on fulfilling its electoral commitments within defined timelines while strengthening transparency, accountability and effective programme delivery across the country.
