The interim government introduced new uniforms for the Bangladesh Police, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) on Saturday.
Under the new guidelines, police officers will wear iron-coloured uniforms, RAB personnel will wear green olive uniforms, and Ansar members will sport golden wheat uniforms.
The government made the decision amid widespread demands for police reforms and uniform changes after the ouster of the Awami League regime on August 5, 2024, during a student-led mass uprising.
Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that the forces will receive the new dresses in phases.
