RAB nab two with microbus, yaba, weapons

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 7: The Rapid Action Battalion personnel have seized 20,000 yaba tablets and eight weapons from a microbus with stickers of two ministries of the country.

Two young men including the microbus driver have been arrested. They were inside the microbus during the raid at around 3.30 pm on Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Alamgir Hossain (30), son of Abul Kalam of north Joypur village under Chandraganj upazila of Laxmipur district, and Al Shahriar (25), son of Amir Hossain of Shibrampur village of Chatkhai upazila under Noakhali district.

Acting on a tip-off, the RAB team set up a check-post in Lalkhan Bazar area on the CDA Avenue Road in the city in the afternoon and stopped the microbus. After searching the vehicle they found the weapons and 20,000 yaba tablets.

Feni Camp Commander of RAB-7 based in Chattogram Shakhawat Jamil Fahim said the two persons had left Cox's Bazar for Chattogram and the microbus had stickers of the Ministry of Home and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
