Rickshaw-van driver hacked to death in Panthapath

DHAKA, Feb 24 (BSS): A rickshaw-van driver was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in the capital's Panthapath area early today.

The deceased, Md Faruk, 28, used to live at Kawranbazar Railway slum and carry different goods to and from the area.

"Locals brought him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition at around 1.30am and Faruk was declared dead at around 2.30am," DMCH police camp in-charge Md Bacchu Miah told BSS.

The police official said the body was kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy and concerned police station has been informed in this regard.
