Robbers kill expat doctor in city

An expatriate physician was stabbed to death by robbers at his residence in the capital's Hajaribag area early Friday.
The victim was identified as AKM Abdur Rashid (85). His wife was also injured in the incident.
The robbers entered the second floor of the five-storey residential building at 294/1, West Dhanmondi under Hajaribag Police Station.
The couple tried to resist the robbers and they were seriously hacked, an official at the police station said.
Neighbours found Abdur Rashid severely injured and rushed him and his wife to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the doctors declared Abdur Rashid dead at around 4:00 am.
The couple used to live in the United Kingdom. They usually visit Bangladesh every year.
Process was underway to file a case in connection with the incident, the official told the FE.
