Rohingya crisis, Teesta deal, and connectivity will top the agenda as foreign secretaries of Bangladesh and India meet today (Sunday) in Dhaka.
The meeting will be held tomorrow at the state guest house Meghna in Dhaka.
Indian foreign secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale arrives today on a two-day visit at the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart.
"Yes, I can tell you that Rohingya issue will be prominently discussed in the meeting," foreign secretary Md Shahidul Haque told the FE.
Besides, the bilateral issues will come up for discussion.
"We are looking forward to a very fruitful and cordial meeting," he said.
According to Indian media reports, the US State Department has recently urged India to play a proactive role in resolving the Rohingya crisis apparently in an attempt to counter China's prominent role in the mediation process between Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Mr Gokhale, who was appointed as the foreign secretary in January, is scheduled to meet the top leadership including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali tomorrow (Monday) before returning home.
Both the foreign secretaries will have a comprehensive review of relations.
Sheikh Hasina's meeting with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in London during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) on April 16-20 and the upcoming important visits that include Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh's tour will be featured in the meeting, a foreign ministry official said.

The top Indian diplomat is scheduled to speak at a joint press briefing at the state guest house Meghna in the capital tomorrow, the second day of his visit.Prior to the briefing, Bangladesh and India will sign a number of memorandums of understanding on different bilateral issues, official said.
