Shut business centres, shops by 8:00pm: Mayor

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Wednesday called on businessmen to shut their business centres and shops by 8:00pm daily.

"We want to bring this city under a proper management. We want to close our business centres and shops by eight in the evening as in other countries. In that case, closing time may vary area to area," he said.

The mayor made the call while talking to the media after inaugurating the 10-storey academic building of Sher-e-Bangla Girls' College at Tikatuli.

Mr Taposh further said that the city would get rid of traffic congestions if the business centres get closed by 8:00pm, which would also create scope for all to spend more time with family.
