Textile mill, Azad Products’ showroom catch fire

A fire broke out at the showroom of Azad Products at Purana Paltan in the capital on Monday.
There was no report of casualties.
The fire was originated from electric short-circuit at around 10:34 am, according to fire service.
Two rescue teams of fire service and civil defense department rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at around 11:50 am.
UNB report adds: A textile mill in the capital's Shyampur area caught fire early Monday.
The fire originated at 'Lucky Textile Mills' situated on the second floor of a six-storey building around 4:30am and it soon engulfed the entire floor, said Mahmudul Haque, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence central control room.
On information, eight firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame around 9am.
Firefighters also rescued some workers, who got trapped in the building. However, no one was reported missing in the incident.
The reason behind the fire could not be ascertained yet, another officer said, adding that actual reason as well as the extent of loss could be known after investigation.
