Three workers die in Rangamati landslide

RANGAMATI, June 02 (UNB): Three construction workers were killed and two others injured in a landslide while working in the Rangamati Women's College area in the district town on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Sentu Mia, 40, Angur Ali, 65, Pappu, 40.

Zahidul Haq Rony, officer-in-charge of Rangamati Kotwali Police Station, said a chunk of mud collapsed on some workers while they were cutting a hillock in the afternoon , leaving the trio dead on the spot and two others injured.

On information, fire service, army and police went to the spot and admitted the injured to a local hospital.
