FE REPORT | February 25, 2023 00:00:00

Speakers at an event on Friday laid emphasis on exploiting youth potentiality and building branding for businesses with an eye to creating and attracting prospective customers.

Home-grown entrepreneurs need to be consistent and create a market demand to improve and grow their businesses, they opined.

Their views came at a start-up conference with young entrepreneurs across the country hosted on the second day of the ongoing BASIS SoftExpo 2023.

'BharatPe' founder Ahneer Grover attended the conference as the chief guest.

The show was hosted by Ayman Sadiq, founder of 10-Minute School, and attended by 700 youths from all over the country.

Speaking at the event, Mr Grover said branding is a critical activity in business while with it one raises interest in creating potential customers.

"When you are selling a product, you have to set the attraction for customers," he mentioned.

"Investors will come to you and overpromise about funds. But at the end of the day, they will enquire about the capital. It's clear that you need to have sufficient money to start any kind of business."

On closing remarks, Russell T Ahmed, president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), said, "By 2041, our county will turn the vision Smart Bangladesh into a reality."

Highlighting the youth potentiality, he said they are going to be a major part of that. Mr Ahmed ended saying, "Start-up simply means business and business demands courage."

As the special guest, bdjobs.com chief executive officer AKM Fahim Mashroor, said start-up cannot think about making a profit on the first day of business. "Tech start-ups are not like grocery shops, which can provide you profit from day one," he said, adding: "Our youths dream of profit from the very first day."

At that event, Rahat Ahmed, founding partner and CEO, Anchorless Bangladesh, delivered a presentation with slides a method youths could follow to raise funds.
