Two Bangladeshi UN peacekeepers die in road crash

Two soldiers of Bangladesh Army working in the UN peacekeeping mission in Central African Republic were killed in a road crash Saturday evening, report agencies.

The deceased were identified as Sainik Arzan Howladar and Sainik Md Ripul Mia, said a press release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday.

The accident took place as a heavy timber carrying conveyor lost control on the way in the Yaloke area, leaving the two dead on the spot and two others injured.

The injured were shifted to Bangui capital city for better treatment. Other peacekeepers in Central African Republic are safe.

Bangladesh Battalion has been engaged in the UN peacekeeping programme since October 2014.
