Two DU students sent to cops for possessing arms

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities handed on Tuesday night two students to Shahbagh police after they recovered firearms and drugs from their possession at Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall.

"They have been handed over to Shahbagh police at 8:30 pm and the process is on to sue them," Mohsin Hall Provost Dr Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan told the FE.

The two students are Abu Bakar Alif of Islamic history and culture and Hasibur Rahman Tusher of Institute of Education and Research.

Provost Nizamul said, "Acting on a tip-off, we went to their rooms and found two CCTV cameras, phensedyl, one loaded pistol, stamps and local arms." "We're in the process of filing two cases (drug and arms) against them," he added.
