10-year-old boy dies in gas explosion in capital

Ten-year-old boy, Mohammad, has died from injuries sustained in a gas explosion in city's Pallabi, raising the death toll to three, reports UNB.

Mohammad succumbed to his injuries early Monday at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident physician at the institute.

Mohammad had sustained burns on 35 per cent of his body and had been undergoing treatment since the incident, he said.

His mother, Ruma Akhter (32), died on Friday night (November 29), at 11:30 pm, while receiving treatment.

Earlier, his father, Abdul Khalil (40), passed away on November 25 at 07:30 am due to injuries from the same incident.

The family, hailing from Banglabazar village in Munshiganj Sadar upazila, has been devastated by this tragedy. Mohammad was the second of three brothers.
