A total of 138 people were hospitalised in the past 24 hours after being infected with Aedes mosquito-borne dengue disease, taking the total caseload of hospitalisations to 21,118 this year, according to the health authorities.
Of the total, 27 patients were admitted in the two city corporations of Dhaka, and 25 admitted in Dhaka Division, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) release on Friday.
No deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, and the death toll stood at 83 this year. July reported the highest number of fatalities this year with 41 deaths, nearly half of the total. June reported 19 deaths, the second highest after July.
July also reported the highest number of hospitalisations with 10,684 patients. The second-highest number was in June, with 5,951 cases of hospitalisations.
Meanwhile, the DGHS also confirmed one more death from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 30 this year, with 720 cases detected so far.
