A total of 50,111 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia until morning Saturday (May 09, 2026) for performing Hajj 2026.
Director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office Md Lokman Hossain said that the highest number of pilgrims were transported by Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
He said that a total of 128 flights had landed in King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah by 10:00 am Saturday (May 9).
Airline-wise data shows that 23,563 pilgrims travelled on 59 flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 18,092 on 47 flights of Saudia, and 8,456 on 22 flights of Flynas.
The remaining 28,262 pilgrims are expected to arrive gradually in the coming days.
The first Hajj flight (BG3001), carrying 418 pilgrims, departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on April 17 for King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The flight was inaugurated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Of the total pilgrims, 4,565 are performing Hajj under government management, while 73,935 are travelling under private arrangements.
The Saudi Embassy in Dhaka has issued 78,373 visas so far, including 4,454 under government management and 73,919 under private arrangements.
According to the Hajj bulletin, 12 pilgrims have died so far due to natural causes, including 10 men and two women. Of them, 10 died in Makkah and two in Medina.
The bulletin also noted that Saudi medical teams have provided treatment to 18,987 pilgrims, while IT helpdesk services have assisted 13,011 individuals.
A total of 78,500 Bangladeshis are expected to perform Hajj this year. Among them, 660 agencies are involved in managing Hajj operations under private arrangements, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.
Subject to moon sighting, Hajj is expected to be held on May 26, with return flights scheduled to begin from Jeddah on May 30 and conclude on June 30.
