Abdul Malek new khatib of Baitul Mukarram mosque

Mufti Abdul Malek, an Islamic law and Hadith scholar, has been appointed Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, reports bdnews24.com.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced his appointment in a statement on Friday. He replaced Waliur Rahman, who took the reins after Khatib Ruhul Amin disappeared following the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
Born in Monoharganj in Cumilla's Laksam upazila, Malek previously served as a member of the Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Commission from 2012 to 2017.
