Abul Hashem's 17th death anniv observed

The 17th death anniversary of eminent educationist Abul Hashem was observed on Friday through a discussion session and milad mahfil at Pirojpur's Singhakhali School and College, which he founded and served as the principle, according to a press release.
Renowned as a social reformist, he founded schools, colleges, madrasas, mosques, and a post office. Few days after the end of the War of Liberation in 1971, he presided over a huge public gathering of Freedom-Fighters and people of the newly independent Bangladesh in the field of Pallimangol High School in Daudpur, adjacent to Pirojpur town.
He authored a text book called "English Grammar and Composition for Class VI" and a book on local history called "Bhandaria Darpon".
His family members arranged qurankhani and a feast for the orphans at Shinghakhali and also a milad mahfil and prayer at Panthapath in the capital.
