Abul Mansur Ahmad's 39th death anniv today

The 39th death anniversary of renowned litterateur, journalist, lawyer and politician Abul Mansur Ahmad will be observed today (Sunday), says a statement.
Abul Mansur Ahmad is one of the best satirists of Bengali literature. He also had an illustrious career as a journalist. In 1946, he served as the editor of daily "Ittehad", which was published from Kolkata, and also worked at the newspapers "Krishak" and "Nabajug". He was a strong proponent of modern and progressive journalism.
To commemorate Abul Mansur Ahmad's death anniversary, a discussion programme titled "Abul Mansur Ahmader Khoje: Buddhadeb Basur Shathe Torker Sutra Dhore" will be held jointly by Abul Mansur Ahmad Memorial Trust and Gyantapash Abdur Razzaq Foundation at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium (Faculty of Social Science, Dhaka University) at 4:00 pm on March 23, 2018.
It will be chaired by Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman. Researcher Mohammad Azam will present the keynote speech while Essayist Hayat Mamud and researcher Morshed Shafiul Hasan will also be present on the occasion.
Also, on April 21, 2018, the Cultural Studies School of Humanities and Abul Mansur Ahmad Memorial Trust will organise an international seminar at the Center for Language Translation of the Netaji Subhas Open University, Kolkata.
