ACC chief warns against extra fee collection from SSC candidates

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman Iqbal Mahmood said on Tuesday the commission will take stern action against the schools that charge the SSC candidates extra fees than the government fixed one.
He also warned the schools of taking legal action if they allow any student to sit for SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examination, who couldn't pass pre-test, in exchange of money.
The ACC chief said these to journalists after coming out of the commission headquarters in the city's Segunbagicha.
He said the anti-graft watchdog conducted prompt drives after receiving complaints at several schools across the country on charge of taking extra fees for form fill-up ahead of SSC exam.
The ACC prevention teams have halted such activities at several schools, he said adding some of the schools have also assured the ACC that they would return the extra money to the aggrieveds students.
Mr Mahmood also said that the commission has informed related government departments about the incidents to take further actions.
Meanwhile, ACC conducted a drive on the day at Jatrabari Ideal High School in the city over charging higher fee for the registration of SSC examination after receiving a complaint through its Hotline-106.
