ACC notice on addl secy, wife to submit wealth statements in seven days

The national anti-graft authority sent on Tuesday a notice to an additional secretary of the home ministry and his wife to submit their wealth statements to the commission.
The notice was issued by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to Home Ministry Additional Secretary (public security division) ASM Emdadud Dastagir and his wife Hosneara Akhtar, Satkhira Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge, according to ACC sources.
The commission has given seven working days to submit statements on their own movable and immovable property and their dependents, according to the ACC notice.
The anti-corruption watchdog has already completed primary investigation of an allegation against the couple about gaining illegal wealth.
The notice also stated that if the two persons fail to submit their wealth statements in time, the commission will take action against them according to section 26 (2) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004.
