The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday quizzed Abzal Hossain, an office assistant of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in remand in two cases over illegal acquisition of assets, reports UNB.
Deputy Director Taufiqul Islam interrogated Abzal from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm.
Earlier on September 2, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge put him on a 14-day remand in two separate cases.
Abzal's wife Rubina Khanam, a stenographer of Medical Education and Health Manpower Development project under DGHS, is proprietor of Rahman Trade International, a contracting firm which used to supply surgical equipment to government hospitals and institutions.
ACC has found that Abzal bought a house in Sydney, Australia spending more than US$ 200,000, and owns four five-storey buildings and a plot in the capital's Uttara, an SUV and several plots and houses in different districts including Dhaka and Faridpur.
