SSC form fill-up

ACC stops realising extra fees by Hazaribagh school

FE Report | November 05, 2018 00:00:00

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday prevented a school in the city's Hazaribagh area from realising extra fees from students for form fill-up for the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

Based on a complaint received on hotline-106, an ACC enforcement team led by its assistant director Faruq Ahmed raided Saleha Higher Secondary School located at Nilambar Shaha road in Hazaribagh.

The complainant informed ACC that the school authorities were taking Tk4,000 per SSC candidate for form fill-up instead of Tk 1,500 fixed by the government.

The ACC team went to the school immediately and the headmaster of the school, Nazrul Islam, admitted the allegation.

In presence of the ACC team, the school authorities hung a notice instantly in front of the school gate mentioning that the examinees of business and humanities groups will now have to pay reduced fees of Tk 1,840 and those of science group Tk 1,950.

Talking about the drive, ACC director general (prevention) Sarwar Mahmud said, "It's totally unethical to take extra money from the students while the government has fixed it at a certain level."

People should be more aware of such incidents and inform the commission about it through hotline-106, he added.
