The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to file separate cases against three serving bureaucrats for allegedly securing government jobs by submitting forged certificates to the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
According to ACC, it has approved the initiation of cases under Rule 10(c) of the ACC Rules, 2007, after investigations found that the certificates submitted by the accused were fake.
Legal proceedings will now be initiated against the officials as part of the commission's ongoing drive against corruption and irregularities in public sector recruitment, ACC Director General Akhter Hossain said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
One of the accused is Sukanta Kundu (Registration No: 11066296), an officer of the 41st BCS Administration Cadre.
The ACC alleged that he applied for the 41st BCS examination by submitting a forged "appearance certificate" to the BPSC. Verification revealed that the document had been fraudulently created, on the basis of which he secured appointment.
Another accused is Abu Saleh Md Musa (Registration No: 082814), a member of the 38th BCS Foreign Affairs Cadre.
The commission alleged that he also submitted a fake appearance certificate while applying for the 38th BCS examination. Verification later confirmed that the certificate was forged, enabling him to obtain employment in the foreign service cadre.
The third accused, Sanjay Das (Registration No: 082947), belongs to the 38th BCS Administration Cadre.
