Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma on Friday attended the second day of the national cremation ceremony of the late most venerable Tilokananda Mahathero at Baghaichhari in Rangamati, reports BSS.
Thousands of devotees paid their last respects to the most honourable Buddist monk at the Shakyamuni Buddhist Monastery during the three-day-long religious programme.
Adviser Supradip said the late Tilokananda Mahathero had spread the light of education across the Chattogram Hill Tracts and urged all to preserve his legacy.
The final rites of Tilokananda Mahathero are scheduled to be held this afternoon.
During his speech, he said the interim government is moving firmly towards holding a free, fair and credible national election.
