All BD citizens in Myanmar safe

All Bangladeshi citizens in Myanmar are safe after a strong earthquake shook the country, said Bangladesh ambassador to Myanmar on Friday, reports UNB.

Earlier, a strong earthquake of 7.2-7.7 magnitude was felt in northern Myanmar. According to AP, the quake struck in the early afternoon, sending people streaming out of buildings and seeking shelter anywhere they could find it from the blazing sun. In Mandalay, Myanmar's second-largest city and close to the epicenter, the earthquake damaged part of the former royal palace and buildings.
