Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman has warned that anyone involved in corruption will face not only administrative measures but also legal action, reports bdnews24.com.
On his first official day at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the minister addressed ministry officials in an introductory meeting, cautioning them against corrupt practices.
Referring to claims of "corrupt judges and officials," Asaduzzaman said: "Being a judge means being honest. Integrity is inherent to the word 'judge'. If anyone engages in corruption, there will not only be administrative action, there will also be a corruption case.
"No one will escape by committing graft."
He added that judges should embody honesty. "Those who feel their salary cannot support their household should consider private practice, which they can pursue after retirement. This is my common message."
