BAF-USPAF seven-day joint exercise ends

150 BAF members and 92 USPAF members took part in it

A seven-day joint exercise, titled Operation Pacific Angel 25-3 - involving the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and the United States Pacific Air Forces (USPAF), concluded at BAF Base Zahurul Haque in Chittagong on Thursday, said the ISPR on Friday.

According to the ISPR, the USPAF conducts a variety of training exercises each year in different countries around the world. The primary objective of Operation Pacific Angel was to ensure the optimum use of the BAF helicopters and transport aircraft in emergencies and adverse conditions through a series of drills.

In this exercise, the BAF deployed one C-130J transport aircraft and one Mi-17 helicopter, while the USPAF deployed two C-130J transport aircraft. A total of 150 members of the BAF and 92 members of the USPAF took part in it. In addition, personnel from the Bangladesh Army and Navy also participated.

Through the joint exercise, the two air forces not only exchanged professional skills and experience, but also enhanced interoperability, strengthened strategic cooperation, and reinforced mutual trust and confidence.

At the closing ceremony, BAF Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanvir Khan delivered the concluding remarks, and joined a photo session with the participants.

Representatives of the US Embassy, senior officials of the USPAF and BAF as well as from the three branches of the Bangladesh Armed Forces attended the event.
