TANGAIL, Jan 2 (bdnews24.com): A highway pile-up on the Bangabandhu Bridge has left one dead and five injured.
The pile up occurred around 7am on Monday when six Dhaka-bound trucks banged into one another, said Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station's OC Mohammad Asabur Rahman.
"Five vehicles lost control after the first truck rammed into the next one. One died on spot," he said.
"Dense fog might have led to the accident," he added.
The wounded were taken to the Tangail Medical College Hospital.
The pile up disrupted traffic on one of the lanes of the bridge which resumed around 9am after police managed to remove the wreckage, said Md Wasim Ali, an engineer of the Bangabandhu Bridge.
