BD observes World Consumer Rights Day

Jatiya Vejal Protirodh Foundation and Bangladesh Kreta-Vokta Adhikar Sangrakkhan Foundation formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the city on Friday, marking the World Consumer Rights Day — Focus Bangla

Like other countries in the world, Bangladesh observed the World Consumer Rights Day on Friday with different programmes and a call for ensuring consumers' rights.

Marking the day, the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) chalked out elaborate programmes, including seminars, conferences and awareness-building campaign.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages marking the day with a view to creating awareness and ensuring people's rights.

The incumbent government enacted the Consumers' Rights Protection Act 2009 in order to ensure consumers' rights in the country and resolve complaints over violation of the rights.
