BD, S Korea sign MoU for digital land survey

Bangladesh and South Korea on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in South Korea's Seoul to carry out a digital land survey in Bangladesh.
The MoU will facilitate Korean technical support to Bangladesh for carrying out digitised cadastral survey and implementation of combined land management system in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Ministry of Land Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed and Republic of Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Vice- Minister LEE Sang Kyeong signed the MoU.
A high official at the Bangladesh land ministry said that the MoU would facilitate the initiation of a digitised land survey and implementation of coordinated land information management system.
He also said that the MoU will facilitate Bangladesh to achieve complete land digitisation.
He further said that this upcoming survey will be considered as the state of the art land surgery system ever in the history of Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh, land survey is usually conducted every 25 years.
According to the Bangladesh land ministry the new land survey, or Bangladesh Digital Survey, will be done fully digitally aiming at ensuring proper land management through digitalisation.
This digital system will help identify the real land owners properly and obtain land related information. Besides, it will also help reduce land related disputes, ensuring authenticity in recorded information on land deeds and providing hassle free land related services to the service seekers.
