BD team set to visit NASA

NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018 contest champion Bangladesh team is set to fly to Orlando, USA on July 19 next to visit NASA.

The six world champion teams from six categories and local organisers are going to NASA and they will visit Kennedy Space Center and join Falcon-9 Space Shuttle Launching Programme, according to a press release.

Bangladesh team will be led by country's ICT Division. The World Champion Teams will participate at the Falcon-9 Space Shuttle launching event on July 21.

NASA Space Apps Challenge 2018 Global organiser has invited World Champion Team Bangladesh and local organiser to participate at the event.

Bangladesh team will participate at the felicitation programme organised by global organisers and take part in the tour inside Kennedy Space Center 0n July22-23.

In February this year, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) team brought the honour for Bangladesh by securing top position in the competition by beating 1395 teams around the world. Bangladesh has become World Champion at NASA Space Apps Challenge contest in 'Best Use of Data Category.'

Team Olik of SUST made a VR application. Using this apps user can experience the NASA lunar landing site in virtual reality.

This Lunar VR Project intends to provide experience in virtual reality which is portable and educative at the same time.

ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, congratulating the achievement said Digital Bangladesh is developing by hand holding with the youths of this country. Now it's our chance to fly our flag high at Kennedy Space Center, NASA .

BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said that it's a great achievement for Bangladesh and BASIS is working relentlessly in the process of building a Digital Bangladesh.
