BDRCS carries out Covid-19 awareness campaign

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) has been conducting awareness campaign in the city for the protection against Covid-19.

Under the programme, the organisation has been providing counselling and distributing face masks among the people at various points in the city, said a press release on Monday.

The programme is being implemented under a project titled 'Emergency Covid-19' supported by the German Red cross, it said.

The youth and volunteers department of the BDRCS said it has so far distributed personal protective equipment and provided counselling at 50 points in the city.

Besides, it has a plan to spray disinfectants in 50 private and public organisations gradually to curb the spread of coronavirus under this project.

The awareness campaign will cover 18 wards of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) by December.

Some 650 DSCC cleaners and 350 cleaners who are working in six hospitals under the DSCC will be provided with Covid-19 kits and skills training.
