According to BGB sources, a number of BGB and BGP personnel took part in a one hour long joint border patrol in the river and on its bank from 11 am to 12 noon of Wednesday.

After 10 months, border guards of both countries performed this second joint patrol on the border to ease tensions.

Subedar Commander of Teknaf BOP Mohammad Ibrahim Hossain led the BGB team and Camp in-charge of BGP in Mongdaw area Peang Proow led the Myanmar team during the joint patrol.

When contacted, Commanding Officer of 2nd battalion of BGB in Teknaf Lt Col Mohammad Asaduz Zaman confirmed it.

BGB sent a proposal to the BGP of Myanmar to increase patrol in Tumbru, Ghundum and Teknaf border areas, sources said. BGB-BGP joint patrol was also held in Tumbru and Ghundhum border areas on Sunday last.
