BNP candidate faces case under Digital Security Act

KUSHTIA, Dec 18 (UNB): A case was filed with a court here on Tuesday against BNP candidate for Kushtia-4 constituency Mehedi Ahmed Rumi and a Tanti Dal leader under the Digital Security Act over their reported audio clip instigating violence ahead of the upcoming general election.

Local Awami League leader and public prosecutor of Kushtia Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Advocate Akram Hasan Dulal filed the case with Kusthia Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.

Judge M Masuduzzaman of the court took cognisance of the complaint and asked the officer-in-charge of Kumarkhali Police Station to investigate it.
