BRAC University (BRACU) has become the first university in Bangladesh to be recognised by the Internal Audit Academic Alliance programme as an academic affiliate for the university's internal audit education efforts, said a press release.
Moreover, Nausheen Ahmed, head of internal audit and compliance at BRACU and secretary general of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Bangladesh, has been named academic alliance coordinator of the university and IIA Global.
Confirmed on August 26, this endorsement will enable the university to avail grants, resources and materials, and educator connections at over 150 colleges and universities partnering with the alliance, and global accreditations to further internal audit education.
BRAC Business School is currently preparing to offer IIA-affiliated courses and provide free IIA membership to its students.
The programme was established by the IIA and Internal Audit Foundation to acknowledge universities that prepare students for a career in internal audit.
The US-headquartered IIA has been a global leader in advancing the internal audit profession, setting the standards for education, research, and professional development, the release added.
