BRACU partners with sBIT for research advancement

BRAC University (BRACU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with sBIT Ltd, a leading semiconductor designer, to foster collaboration in research, intellectual property development, and prototype creation.

The partnership aims to contribute to the growth of the country's growing tech industry, according to a statement from the university.

The agreement was formalised on campus by BRAC University's Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Arshad Mahmud Chowdhury, and Dr. Jahangir Dewan, CEO of sBIT Ltd.

Founded in Silicon Valley in 2007, sBIT Ltd specialises in semiconductor VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) design, cybersecurity software, and IT services.

Through this collaboration, sBIT Ltd will provide students from BRAC University's BSRM School of Engineering with access to the Cadence University Programme.

The partnership promises to strengthen the link between academic learning and industry practices, facilitating the exchange of engineering knowledge and advancing the capabilities of students in the field of electronics and semiconductors.

Professor Md Mosaddequr Rahman, Chairperson of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Assistant Professor Twisha Titirsha; Associate Professor Mirza Rasheduzzaman; and Professor Touhidur Rahman attended the event.
