BRTC advance Eid ticket sale begins today

The Special Eid Service by the state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will start from May 27 while advance Eid ticket sale will begin from today (Monday).

The sale will take place at 18 bus depots of the Corporation across the country. The Eid Special Service of BRTC will be continued from May 27 to June 10, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said at a press conference in the city on Sunday.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on June 5 or 6 depending on sighting of moon.

A total of 1,089 BRTC-run buses will provide services during Eid festival across the country.

Besides, 50 buses will remain on stand-by to meet any emergency needs during the Eid holidays, the minister said.

However, the private run bus operators have started selling tickets in advance from Friday last.

Bangladesh Railway is set to begin its ticket sale from May 22 and launch advance tickets will be available from May 21.
