BSMMU Pro-VC Dr Zakaria passes away

Professor Dr ASM Zakaria Swapan, Pro-Vice chancellor (Academic) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), died of prolonged illness at BSMMU at 11.45 am on Wednesday, reports BSS.
He was 55, family sources said, adding he was suffering from liver cancer for long.
Dr Zakaria left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives, colleagues, students and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at BSMMU central mosque at 3.00 pm.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock at the death of Dr Zakaria.
In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
