Bus driver who knocks down BIWTA official arrested

Law enforcers have arrested the bus driver who ran over Krishna Roy, an assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), in the city's Banglamotor area whereby she lost her left leg, reports UNB.

A team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested Morshed, driver of the 'Trust Paribahan' bus, from Kazipara on Sunday night, said PBI Police Super (Dhaka North) Basir Ahmed.

Krishna Roy was walking along the pavement at Banglamotor when the bus mounted on it and ran over her on August 27, damaging her left leg badly.

Later, doctors had to amputate the damaged leg at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.
