BANGKOK, Apr 04 (BSS): Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus held a bilateral meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister (PM) Harini Amarasuriya on the sidelines of the sixth BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok.
He sought Sri Lankan support in the Interim Government's efforts to bring back billions of dollars.
The two leaders discussed issues of mutual interest and vowed to expand trade and cooperation between the friendly South Asian countries.
The Sri Lankan PM narrated the efforts made by her country to recover stolen money. She said the Sri Lankan parliament has ratified a new law to expedite the recovery process.
The two leaders also discussed various aspects of the July uprising and stressed the importance of people-to-people contacts between the two nations.
Besides, Prof Yunus held bilateral meetings with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandey on the sidelines today.
Besides, the CA held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Bhutan Dasho Tshering Tobgay on the sidelines of the sixth BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok.
Prof Yunus also held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra on the sidelines of the summit.
Apart from that, BIMSTEC Secretary General Indra Mani Pandeyalso called on new Chairman of the body and Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in Bangkok.
