CCC body to control fire incidents in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 02: Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has taken steps to control fire accidents in the port city during the dry season.

Chattogram District Administration, and Fire Service and Civil Defence has already taken steps to check the fire incidents of the city.

The CCC has formed a nine-member committee in this regard.

Chief Engineer of CCC will be the convener of the committee.

The other members of the committee include representatives of Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ), Chattogram Press Club, Department of Environment, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and Chattogram Development Authority (CDA).

The committee will start visiting buildings of the city from April 15 next. They will scrutinise documents about the buildings in accordance with the approved structural design by the authority.

If the building owners fail to show necessary documents, the committee will submit the recommendations and the CCC will take legal action in this regard.
