CCC will remove waste before 4 pm on Eid day

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 20: Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) will remove waste of sacrificial animals within 4.00 PM on the Eid Day.

Acting Mayor of the CCC Chowdhury Hasan Mahmud Hasni said this today after holding a meeting with the ward councillors and department heads at the CCC auditorium.

The meeting was held two days ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha to discuss the waste removal preparation of the conservancy department and to take suggestions and action plans to keep the city neat and clean.

The meeting was presided over by chief executive of the CCC Md Shamsuddoha while some ward councillors and senior conservancy officials put up their opinions, demand for workforce and garbage vehicles for waste removal from the city area.

Acting Mayor Hasni said the city's 41 wards have been divided into four zones where 5,000 workers and conservancy staffs will be engaged on the day for cleaning the city.

He said that 350 vehicles have been kept ready besides all necessary garbage cleaning tools and a big quantity of spray powder for that purpose. A control room has been set up at the CCC's Dampara office to monitor the whole gamut of things, he said.

He said the CCC has been cleaning waste of sacrificial animals within 4.00 PM successfully over the last three years.
